On Monday, the court learned phone records and data retrieved from phones documented Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a genetic test throughout the past two years.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - at the age of three during a family holiday in Portugal - is considered the most publicized missing child cases and remains unresolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

A separate voicemail, presented in court, documented Ms Wandelt stating: "I realize I'm heavy and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I feel."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's answerphone stated: "What if there is a slight possibility that I am she? What happens next? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I possess a existence here in Poland, I only wish to understand," she added.

The jury was informed that via electronic messages, text messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a genetic test, sent youth pictures to her phone in a attempt to demonstrate a similarity to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and claimed to have "flashbacks" from a childhood with the McCanns.

The investigator, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who gathered the information, advised the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore reached out to family friends of the McCanns, based on the phone records.

On 9 October 2024, Gerry McCann answered a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "incorrect contact information."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a voicemail on Mrs McCann's voicemail stating "I won't give up and I intend to demonstrate my point."

The court was informed Mrs Spragg struck up a relationship through digital means with Ms Wandelt preceding accompanying her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in that area in December 2024.

Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had reached out via WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the news outlets had characterized Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she should be considered genuine in the period before the appearance to that location, Leicestershire, in last December.

The court learned correspondence between the two accused, in last November, discussing attempting to acquire Mrs McCann's genetic material from her trash or from cutlery at a dining venue.

"We have to make a stand," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the trip to their home, the defendant sent a text which expressed: "We find ourselves sat adjacent to the McCanns' house with our lights out similar to private investigators. I had hoped to accomplish this with another person I didn't imagine I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The trial ongoing.
