Nearly 55,000 families have reportedly been affected by the weather, with their belongings and shelters damaged.

Intense storms over the recent period have compounded the already dire living conditions of the hundreds of thousands of uprooted residents in the region, as stated by relief organizations.

"Horrendous" Night Poses Grave Dangers

A official detailed the previous night's conditions as "terrible", with precipitation so severe that as much as 15cm (6in) of water gathered on the ground.

"Last night was exceptionally horrendous for the families. The storms were so strong... And the gales were so strong," stated the spokesperson.

Authorities voice significant concern that children sheltering in tents in soaked garments will contract hypothermia and various illnesses.

Deaths and Widespread Damage

The health ministry have stated that one baby has died from the cold and no fewer than 11 other people have died in structural failures triggered by the severe weather.

Further statements suggest a increased number of casualties. Authorities said that multiple residential buildings had fully given way and scores had been partly destroyed.

  • Almost 55,000 families harmed by flooding.
  • More than 40 official shelters severely flooded.
  • Many people compelled to move once more.

Assistance Efforts Seen as Not Enough

Groups have increased distribution of tents, warm covers and clothing after the ceasefire began, but they stress there is still not enough aid reaching those in need.

"Agencies are operating tirelessly to provide that relief and to allocate it, but the scale of the requirements is so vast that we are faced with a great number of individuals and minors who are genuinely struggling every night," cautioned one official.

Ongoing Issues and Ceasefire Plans

The subsequent part of the agreement involves plans for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with future administration, the withdrawal of military forces, and other terms.

Aid groups have underscored the need for "increased and sustained aid to meet pressing and long-term requirements."

The conflict was initiated by an offensive in the autumn of 2023. Following military operations have resulted in a substantial number of casualties in the area, according to health ministry figures.
