Squad Ratings: England Triumph Sealed by Harry Kane's Double in World Cup Qualifier
In a commanding display, England secured another victory against Albania, with multiple squad members producing standout performances on the pitch.
First-choice Lineup
The goalkeeper Was rarely tested to make before the break but then forced to intervene by an opponent's curled attempt. One well-timed sliding challenge against an Albanian attacker showed sharp reading of the game. Six out of ten
The debutant Tested against the opposition's primary attacker through Hoxha. Operated in a central role initially but moved out wide once Saka entered the fray. 7
The defender Moved into midfield when in possession, a familiar role before. Sometimes was too casual on the ball and the tactic was shelved at half-time. 6
Dan Burn A nuisance on corners and free-kicks, per usual, could serve as a replacement to his teammate in the backline as opposed to his partner. A loose pass in the second half came close to an opener from the visitors. 6
The young full-back One more composed performance from the rising star following his debut against Serbia. Saka failed to make the most of a clever backheel behind their defense. The left-back spot is his to lose at this stage. 7
The newcomer A debut start for his country. A bit loose in possession though his whipped deliveries were a threat. An effective pace-controller for the boss to call upon against sides that sit back. Cautioned after a reckless challenge. Six
Declan Rice Crosses from dead balls and set-plays created chances. Had room to drift in left midfield yet found himself offside upon receiving in front of goal. Granted a deserved rest around the 60-minute point. Six
Jude Bellingham Played in a forward spot out wide and also did plenty of dirty work. Showed flashes of quality and mishit an attempt high. Substituted in the closing stages by Rogers, his competition, after receiving a caution. 7
The winger Had the team's best chance before halftime, his strike well saved by the Albanian keeper. As Quansah hanging back, he was forced to stretch the play out wide yet his deliveries from wide areas varied in quality. Taken off late in the match. 6
Harry Kane The difference-maker with his 77th and 78th finishes in an England shirt. His first a typical opportunist's goal while the second an excellent header after peeling away off his defender. Now 32, his form is unwavering and the side have every chance in the upcoming tournament when he's in the team. 8
Eberechi Eze Had difficulty to influence play on the left flank. Had a decent opportunity when set up from a teammate but the keeper kept it out. His replacement made much more of effect after coming on. 5/10
Bench Players
- Phil Foden (replacing a teammate on 63 minutes) Was bright connecting well with Kane in a natural spot, 6
- Bukayo Saka (on for the winger 63) Spurned chances yet his delivery created the opener, 6/10
- Marcus Rashford (replacing the attacker 75) Active upon introduction assisting the captain's brace with superb cross to the far post, 7/10
- Anderson (for Wharton in the 75th minute) Seems settled at this level, 6/10
- Rogers (replacing the star 84) Not enough time to influence the game, 6/10
